Holidays In The Costa del Sol Spain – A Brief Guide
The Costa del Sol has been one of the most popular and glamorous
holiday destinations for many Europeans for the past 30 years or so.
British, Germans and Scandinavians find this beautiful region of Spain
so desirable and many flock here every year in there thousands to soak
up the Sun. So what is it that they find so appealing?
Weather
Well, when you visit the Costa del Sol you will not be disappointed
with this Mediterranean climate.
The Costa del Sol has around 320 days of warm and sometimes hot
sunshine. Winters are extremely mild also which means a winter break
to the Costa del Sol is very much an option for many.
Accommodation
There are a number of options when it comes to accommodation. Your
main options are private holiday
rentals in Costa del Sol or you could plump for a luxury Marbella hotel
with either bed and breakfast, full board or the all-inclusive option.
There is good and bad in both but many feel that they have more
flexibility and freedom when hiring say a holiday villa or apartment
as you have your own cooking facilities and you are not restricted on
set meal times and other inconveniences.
On the other hand Costa del Sol hotels provide a lot of entertainment
and generally have very good facilities such as swimming pools,
gymnasiums, cinemas, games rooms and child facilities.
So before coming to the Costa del Sol, make sure you do your homework
and get the right accommodation for your own circumstances.
Beaches
One of the main attractions of the Costa del Sol is its splendid
beaches, all of which are covered in soft, golden sand.
There are many beaches to visit, all within easy reach along the
coastline. Recommended beaches are Torremolinos, Marbella, Cabopino
and Fuengirola but you will find all of the beaches on the Costa del
Sol and pleasure.
Most beaches also have many Chiringuitos which are restaurants which
are right on the beach. So why not find a beach with a Chiringuito,
pull up a seat and eat some great sea food while watching the sun
set!!
Fun For The Family
If you plan on taking a family break to the Costa del Sol then you
will have made a great choice. The Costa del Sol has an abundance of
things to do for families including the Crocodile Park in
Torremolinos, Funny Beach in Marbella and The Aquatic Park and Bio
Park Zoo which are both in Fuengirola. Or you could also try Selwo
Marina in Benalmadena where you can see Dolphins, Sea Lions and many
other land and sea creatures just waiting to perform for you.
Things To Do
You are literally spoilt for choice when it comes to activities on the
sunshine coast. In winter you can actually visit the Sierra Nevada
mountains that overlook the coast and do some skiing. Seems hard to
imagine but you can literally ski in the morning and sunbath in the
afternoon!
Other things to do include, shopping at some of the finest shops in
Puerto Banus, go horse riding, play golf in any one of a hundred great
golf courses or just spend your day soaking up the hot summer sun. You
will definitely be spoilt for choice when holidaying here.
