Perhaps the Best Scuba Diving in the World
We’ve all heard of people diving in the Red Sea and Great Barrier Reef, but you know there is a small part of the Philippines, where you can find a variety of fish around the Red Sea, and is that a wider variety of hard and soft corals of the Great Barrier Reef?
Some sixty miles south of Manila is the island of Mindoro, and Verde and is known as the current special Green Island Passage, which transports large amounts of nutrients and oxygen and the Pacific in a small area of about 20km only 100 km long and wide at the narrowest point. This area is estimated that around 60% of all known species in the world can be found shallow.
Long ago, the Philippine government realized what a valuable resource and defines the area around the island of Vere protected marine reserve.
On the island of Mindoro, near an area that rises on the Green Passage is a small city called Puerto Galera. In fact, according to western standards, this is the village and turn it into a small fishing village of Sabang. The fishermen can fish rich residues stop the door and turned his attention on creating a paradise for divers.
That was when I first discovered Puerto Galera and was becoming one of the diving centers in the world. Fifteen years ago, is almost impossible to reach Puerto Galera Manila, and only the toughest divers take out lightly, but the government built a road from Manila to Batangas port and now has regular bus lines Batangas, from Puerto Galera to take the boat for about 45 minutes.
As more divers have discovered the magic of Puerto Galera are also places for recreation and there are now high quality resorts that cater to divers worldwide, and restaurants for every taste imaginable, bars and nightclubs, and Live music and discos.
If you are a bus and wants to escape the madness for a week or two you really should try it. Flying is not cheap, but once in Puerto Galera is likely to spend less than you here in the country. The average wage of unskilled workers is still less than one U.S. dollar per hour.
Visit divers survey found that someone has dived Verde Island Passage them again on average ten times more.
